My son and I were treated as family by every staff member at Aquila, which is why I extended our stay by one more night. Although we loved everyone, I must say that Sholeen, Peter, and Tim went above and beyond. I have to give my LOVE to Sholeen - such a beautiful soul with an even more incredible smile - always happy to see us and she made my boy feel so loved. We will be back!

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The welcoming staff greeted us with warm smiles and refreshing welcome drinks, setting the tone for a relaxing getaway. The location is ideal — peaceful, scenic, and exciting activities like the game drive, which was expertly run by knowledgeable operators. The spa experience was just as impressive, adding a luxurious touch to our stay. The food was absolutely exceptional — compliments to the chef and the entire kitchen team! Every meal was a delight. Everything worked seamlessly, and the attention to detail made us feel truly cared for. Whether you're looking to unwind or explore, this place has everything you need. I’ll definitely be back!

Everything. The young caucasian safari guide with blonde hair was excellent and very passionate.(sorry forgot his name) and so knowledgeable about everything. He made sure we saw all the big 5. The size of the reserve was perfect. Drivers who brought us from and to Cape Town were excellent. Met the Head of Security on the transfer back to Cape Town and reassured to hear about the level of security at the reserve plus he was a great guy and very knowledgable.

All I ate was good and well prepared. Was well please that there are some catering for smokers but these areas canbe improved with something as small as a few garden years and tables. Smokers also spend our money to be there. It is not a crasch course to stop smoking and it is inconveniet to fall around to find a smokers friendly aread. IT damens my enthuasimh for the place.

We had a wonderful 24 hours at Aquila Game Reserve in October 2025. Their best room, it’s own building actually, was spectacular and because it was the highest (up 42 stone stairs) it had a spectacular view. Thus, we could see many of the animal species from the expansive deck! Curlo was our fantastic private guide for the two outings, making sure we saw as many species as possible. The dining area was quite large and offered a great variety of food. Being only about 2.5 hours from Cape Town, this is a good option for seeing the animals if you’re in that area.

The close proximity to the reserve, we were lucky to see almost all the type of animals onsite. The staff was excellent, both safari guide (big shout out to Mark who made our day) and the waitresses.

The staff - Timothy, Enzil, Nigel, Gerttrude and Wilbur went out of their ways to make the stay wonderful. Staff all-round excellent and friendly and a good advert for Aquila, Highly recommended

The location, game drive and the experience. The abundance of animals. The food was good, but will explain more below. Spa was great and relaxing, very nicely laid out. The fireplace in the main hall was great. The view from there overlooking the bush was lovely, elephants and animals can be seen while eating breakfast.

The game drives, the quad biking was so much fun and the spa area as it was a bit quieter than the main pool which had day guests.
